Story of the week - higher interest rates on the way, because the economy is growing too fast, money supply is out of control and even the Governor of the Bank of England is telling the Government the inflation CPI figure is wrong. Very poor macroeconomic handling at the moment; sadly distracted by Government spin about other things...
Whilst higher interest rates suit me the same cannot be said for most people in this country.

ReplyDeleteReckon we were the last vehicle to leave on Saturday evening before it became an island, courtesy of Mr Audi and his excellent 4x4 design. I may post the short vid-clip of the fording exercise involved, shot left-hand-around-the-wicket by rear passenger. Bow-wave was higher then the bonnet, which made for a momentary skip of the old ticker.
(but it did mean we didn't need the David Cameron resuce mission to Witney seafarers this morning)
CU - Mervyn didn't "hint" he was outrightly critical of Brown's inflation figures! Real interest rates are probably about zero, so they need to go up quite a bit more before anecdotal inflation starts to come down.
