First signs of recession in the office...

Dear Staff,

It is advised that you come to work dressed according to your salary. If we see you wearing Prada sneakers and carrying a Gucci bag we assume that you are doing well financially and therefore you do not need a raise. If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better, so that you may buy nicer clothes and therefore you do not need a raise. If you dress in-between, you are right where you need to be and therefore you do not need a raise.

Kind Regards,

The Management.

  6. Should you care to know, it is cheaper (and enjoyable) to fly to Florence, stay a couple of days and buy your Prada, Gucci, Fendi, Sander, et al on a meander up the Valdarno towards Montevarchi and its factory estates and outlets. The journey, staying over costs, car hire, (or just take a train from Santa Maria Novella to Montevarchi and the taxis outside the station will take you to the factories) and some delicious meals and countryside and culture thrown in, will still come to less than buying in England.

HG, and others who may be interested: No need to buy the real thing in Europem when in the far east you can get perfectly good rip offs for one tenth of the pic. And after all, a bag is just a bag, no? Like ultra expensive watches - all they do is tell the time.

oopps, sorry: sticky keyboard again. For pic read price, and delete the m from Europe.

Whatever CU. We all saw how you cunningly directed this conversation towards your peculiar fashion interests.

We may laugh, but I bet you some poor sod somewhere in the UK will be 'let go' for this reason.
