As if the last year in politics hasn't been fascinating enough, the next 12 months are going to be incredible. New US President, more council elections and the European elections in the UK and no doubt much more.
Dave is going to taunt you and taunt you on this one. The old guard have been rightly held responsible for the mess they have made and the failed policies they have used. Take note Gordon.. The voters can't be fooled with the "best placed to get you out of the mess we got you into" slogan.
Peston is such a tool... a while back he wrote an article about Germany and the financial intervention there, saying it had alarming echoes of the 30s... several talkbackers commented on it, that it was rather bad taste to invoke the rise of the Nazis... and, magically, he deleted that part of the blog post and the comments which had pointed it out (as if by magic, whoosh, it was gone)... now, the morning after the election of the first black leader in a country with a terrible history of slavery - his headline: 'Obama shackled by debt'.... Shackled? really? best word you could come up with? These things happen when you spew emotive hyperbole from your subconscious, Mr Peston.
All the lefties in the office were in full 'alleuyah' mode this morning.
Funny how none of them seemed very apologetic for the countless bigoted comments they have made over the last few months about Americans being too racist to vote for a black president, given the landslide.
Besides that, not all that much has really changed yet from where I'm sitting, came into work at the same time, drank the same coffee and got on with the same bureaucracy as normal.
In the Commons, Mr Brown said he hoped to talk to Mr Obama "very soon", saying his election was of "historical significance".
But Mr Cameron taunted him with a line the PM used in his Labour conference speech, saying: "I read this morning that you had sent a message to the President-elect. Presumably it wasn't: 'This is no time for a novice".'
I guess that depends on the novice, doesn't it? Obama at least looks like a president, albeit from central casting because Morgan Freeman isn't available. Contrast & compare with the boy Milliband - the first person to make Foreign Secretary appear to be a junior position. The vile turd looks capable of wearing deely-boppers while shoving that banana up his own fundament.
The chap does remind me of Bliar... and there are such high expectations of him. I wonder how long it will take for him to be found out?
