Fred's pension

The ex-RBS CEo has come over all MP like and wants to hand back the money even though he did nothing legally wrong.

He still gets £342k a year. Not enough to keep a football club going then....

However, yet again the MSM are missing the point that he earned this money whilst a partner at Accountancy giant Deloitte. Where he was the partner appointed to wind-up the bankrupt BCCI bank.

So Sir Fred has made two fortunes in his career, one tidying up the mess of a broken bank and the next doing the opposite....

  1. OT, but what happened to all these trading ideas?

I'm wondering if lean hog prices are around about the bottom on the back of this swine flu thing.

What do you reckon on long hogs, long corn?

I might flog my Vodafone tomorrow and go for it.

What does he get for the reduction?

    A peerage?

    Cushy number at the FSA?

  3. SL - Yep, they will be back. I have just made some changes in my investments.

lean hogs sounds interesting, have you looked at the seasonality chart though - so important for commods.

I got voda last week, £1k at 113, so doing nicely so far. Am looking to bail north of 125 at the mo.

  5. I haven't looked at any seasonality charts. I just want to phone up and say "Buy leveraged lean hogs"!

I did look at some hogs and pigs report or something but frankly it was quite boring.

There seems to be a good few million more hogs about than a couple of years back but prices have taken a hammering on the back of the commodities bubble bursting and now on the swine flu.

There is no good scientific reason for banning US pork exports because of swine flu, is there?

I'll think about it over the weekend.

  6. nope, it may be a godo shout sl. ETF's are very affected by the seasonal change though- even gold and silver have significant seasonal times of year.

  7. At our office xmas party in rural Northshire, while deeply in my cups I met the man whose computer leasing company precipitated the fall of BCCI.

    Small world eh...
