ND, your link to the Telegraph article about German views of the euro crisis has Volker Kauder (CDU leader) stating:
"I can understand that the British don’t want that [the financial transaction tax] ....... Only being after their own benefit and refusing to contribute is not the message we’re letting the British get away with.”
I have thought for some time the Germans (and the French) would try to get the British to prop up their damn currency. Kauder has an absolute cheek and Merkel must have approved this.
