ReplyDeleteWhat I love is the idea that "economic benefits" are some sort of sin. It is as if the economy can be viewed in such an abstract sense that it has nothing to do with feeding people or keeping them warm enough to survive the winter.
I wonder if this is how the Orwellian concept of "doublethink" works in some people - you can hold two mutually contradictory beliefs in your head at the same time, but only if you don't really understand either of them!

If it were just the Grauniad it would be a belly laugh. Unfortunately the broadcasting arm of GMG, otherwise known as the BBC, holds much of the population entranced with its unscientific nonsense about CAGW.

I did hear about Laura Ashley proposing mylar sheets in geostationary orbit to reduce Global Warming. It may work or simply be curtains for the Earth...
