BBC Question Time : Poll of polls edition

David Dimbleby presents topical debate from Glasgow. The panel includes Liberal Democrat chief secretary to the treasury Danny Alexander MP, SNP minister for Europe Humza Yousaf MSP, leader of the Scottish Conservatives Ruth Davidson MSP, Labour's deputy leader in Scotland Kezia Dugdale MSP, journalist Toby Young and crime writer Val McDermid.

Its that QT from the land of the White Walkers.
But this time, its of significance to the wider UK. The Labour strongholds are in rebellion. The equivalent of areas such as Chelsea or Virginia Water going UKIP. Quite how labour have managed to let this happen..well..I'm still unsure what is occurring. But those Ashcroft polls, are dire for Labour. Making the whole boundary issue moot. 
{Except, of course, the SNP are still socialists..and will put Miliband into number 10}

Tough to know the questions on the regionals.

1. SNP about to have total governance and powerbroker status..discuss.
2. Why is Cameron so afraid of a little chat on the telly with weird Ed. 
3. Tories promise 200,000 starter homes in 5 years. Labour promise 1 million starter homes in 5 years. So I guess SNP can promise 5 million homes in 1 year...
4. Councils in Scotland facing 'unprecedented cuts.' {that won't happen.}
5. Could be Putin investigates the assassination.. but more likely this 5p a litre rebate for rural areas thing. proving the EU is a very, very good thing.

4. Jihadi John turns out to be a kind, friendly, cheerful, pacifist. But the security forces turned him into a Jihadi. So we know who to blame. All this terrorism is caused by MI5 investigating terrorism.
So I suppose if the Human Rights people are right, if we just stop looking for terrorists that will prevent terrorism.
5. Has to be those disastrous Net Immigration figures and Cameron's silly pledge.

3. Chill-clot. |what is going on? Why is it such an issue for so long? Woodward {of |Woodward and Bernstein fame}  has already written THREE, 1000+ page books, all about the lead up to the Iraq war. These are factual books with every existing email, post-it note, back-of-the envelope evidence examined in excruciating detail. They are so detailed they are really just too tedious to read. But if you want to know who said what, to whom, about what,on which day, and who was copied in..its all in there. And they been available for years. I read all the Blair bits.

4. SNP, balance of power..devolution..we will stop privatisation..etc.
5. That invoice to a schoolkid. Pay for the party you didn't attend. Well done parents. Alienated, embarrassed and emotionally scared your offspring, plus given yourself even more factions to avoid at the school gate.All for £15.

CIA step in to Question Time row

Nigel Farage seen leaving Canterbury last night

The former Director of the CIA has today stepped into the row over last night's BBC Question Time edition.

Speaking on behalf of frightened of BBC, (£330,000 a-year) Executives, the Director denied that hosting Russell Brand on the show was cruel and unusual punishment.

Brand, a mentally distuberd if brilliant, counter-terrorist, launched into a wave of sexist attacks on a British Minister - "Pay their pensions then, love. Excuse the sexist language, I'm working on it."

In addition he lambasted UKIP leader Nigel Farage. In what was a clear set-up the BBC allowed a left wing heckler to constantly shout 'Racist' at Nigel Farage at regular intervals.

The CIA director insisted that this kind of mental testing was important for the BBC if it was to be able to expose what it really thought about the true inner beliefs of the panellists exposed to this type of interrogation.

Furthermore, the CIA insist that Ed Milliband and David Cameron had both signed up to the agenda. along with the Guardian Media group and that bloke who is a judge and wants to stand for Labour now.

The BBC will not be making any more Question Time series until the New Year, when there are plans afoot to hold the show at GCHQ and aboard HMS Victory

1. Is the coalition's failure to provide for weekend GP services a result of savage Tory-led cuts to services or Labour's unbelievable decision to allow the Docs to opt-out of weekend provision?
or both?

2. Terrorism: Facebook is to blame for global terrorism. Before the internet there was no terrorism. So its now up to government to read all our emails and service providers to send the spooks all our likes and dislikes and pokes to end world terror. I can feel a parody post coming on. The Gunpowder plot online ? {although that plot was discovered by the social media of the day - a letter.}

3. Thornberry revisited. Did Emily Thorntons tweet reveal the remoteness of the political classes from the electorate. 

4. Jack Monroe ? I don't fancy it as a story but it ticks some boxes. Was she right to be as shrill and abusive as an enraged dementia sufferer? Should people not tweet what they would not say face to face.. some garbage like that..

5. Net immigration. The made up targets are going to be missed. Which says something about the scale of the problem if its not even possible to achieve the easy-peasey-set-the-bar-low targets that the government set itself.

The Great BBC Question Time Bake Off begins tonight.
These first episodes have a lot of ground to cover and usually the editor adds some random questions from months ago. Presumably so we know they've been paying attention and not just on the sort of long holiday a teacher would envy.

5. Paedos in the government..Now, usually my tinfoil hat detector would be beeping like a reversing recycling lorry..However, with what has been going on in NHS, schools and TV...
Plus, someone I used to know very well when i was a teenager, just got 10 years for this very crime.
So a cover up seems not very far fetched at all.

David Dimbleby presents topical debate from Wolverhampton, with Conservative defence minister Anna Soubry MP, Labour's former deputy prime minister Lord Prescott, deputy leader of UKIP, Paul Nuttall MEP, anti-extremism campaigner and Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate Maajid Nawaz and the former executive editor of the News of the World, Neil Wallis.


Tricky one this week as there's two weeks of much news, so could be anything. But does look like BBC, with that panel, have given the audience a big nudge on what they'd like to be asked .

BQ Guesses 5 questions

1. Is there still a need for Leveson's reforms after the guilty{ish} verdict against Andy Coulson - PM's judgement, Criminals in parliament..Yada Yada Yada.

2.Zero hours contracts. Ending the exclusivity clause. And rightly so.

3. And the other demon of the moment, Wonga. Should we all send out fake legal letters to our creditors. Sounds like a good idea. If only it weren't illegal.

4. Britons fighting in Syria. Are they just International Brigade type idealists or lunatic fundamentalists? And is there any difference anyway?

5. Cameron about to be ignored by Europe, once again. How will the QT audience be able to pile on the bile for UKIP, whilst admitting that Europe long ago stopped paying any real attention to the UK?

No QT quiz tonight.
 It is the election special which only gives us the politicians claiming either a real, a moral or an imaginary victory...followed by a quick Lee Rigby question.

So instead..
What do you think the 1st, 2nd, 3rd places will be for the Euro elections. And the vote share percentage.

Current polling has UKIP or Labour as the leader, on around 26-27%, with Tories third on 22-23% and Liberals/Greens nowhere of note.

So your guesses into the comments plus, optional, how did you vote ?

BBC Question Time : Take That Tax Bill edition

David Dimbleby presents Question Time from Coventry. On the panel are Conservative employment minister Esther McVey, Labour's shadow energy secretary Caroline Flint MP, former Liberal Democrats leader Lord Ashdown, SNP external affairs minister in the Scottish government Humza Yousaf MSP and Daily Telegraph blogger Tim Stanley.

After last weeks dismal outing can Dimbleby do better? The C@W commenting class rightly had the sharp and effective Andrew Neil as the replacement for Old man Dimb. So that is never going to happen.
BBC are bound to be looking at an all women short-list.So Jack Dromey in with a chance.

Anyway...
