Why did Kynon get 5 points for not watching? I never watch, can I have some points?
Golden rule of C@W QT is no whinging. the non-rules are the non-rules and mustn't be stuck too!
BE: - Kynon didn't watch, but did enter. as you know, we operate on the honour system here. An Englishman's word ..etc. And a lady's honour is always beyond reproach. {And we do, for the purposes of QT, allow a Scotsman to assume temporary English gentleman status}
When the British PM, Benjamin Disraeli. heard that the French were negotiating for purchase of the sharesfor the Suez Canal, he decided to purchase the bankrupt Ismail Pasha's shares.
As he could not wait for parliamentary allocation of funds, he sent his private secretary, Montagu Corry to Lord Rothschild to float a loan. According to Corry, when told that the Prime Minister wanted 4,000,000 pounds tomorrow, Rothschild asked "What is your security?"
"The word of the prime minister."
"You shall have it," said Rothshchild."
Aye, those were the days, eh?
If Cameron had asked a loan of £40 Rothschild would have wanted Montagu to leave his hat and cloak as collateral.
I'm sure I was in it. Maybe that's my mind playing tricks.
I am not whinging, I am just arguing that I should be winning because QT drives me nuts even more than Newsnight does, so I don't watch either!
@BQ A much better answer than mine!
I haven't actually watched QT in years...I get far too incandescently angry for it to be a good idea at that time of night.
BQ - I'd like to think I am a man of my word, regardless of geographical origin (which is probably why watching politicians being weasel-like on QT gives me the rage!)
