Votey McVoteface - the Great British SOH strikes again

Gotta love this crazy 'new election' petition.

The famous British GSOH in full flight !  Ridicule & satire are sometimes the most powerful weapons.  After 14 years, HIGNFY (e.g.) had become an anti-Tory gagfest: but I'd say that, the inevitable woke luvvies notwithstanding, it's rapidly going the other way.  So many figures of fun; so many targets.  And such a short period since that last election.  Almost makes up for the loss of John Prescott.

Yes, a delight to see all the meejah pundits fulminating about the pointlessness of it, and how it couldn't possibly lead to another Election. Really missing the point. Perhaps it's a case of Electile Dysfunction?

If you look at the distribution of the votes by constituency, it seems the highest levels of votes are in current Conservative constituencies. Do these voters now regret their previous choice?

Speaking to ITV about the general election rerun petition, Sir Keir said: "Look, I remind myself that very many people didn't vote Labour at the last election.
"I'm not surprised that many of them want a rerun. That isn't how our system works."

Labour's Brexit spokesman Keir Starmer has insisted the party could back another referendum that offered voters the chance to stay in the EU.
Sir Keir Starmer said the party was "certainly not ruling out" such a move.

Marvellous stuff, some useless employment for the Tufton Strret brigade. Stir it up for Starmer.

So what is likely to happen, how is this game to be played. There will be some lobbying and arm twisting and some sort of vote in Parliament. Some labourites may want to put the wind up Starmer and the tories may want to induce a false sense of security in Starmer's mind. Take a peek over the cliff, but don't jump.

Unless Labour is very very stupid and very very incompetent Labour will stay safely in power and no new election will materialise.

All good employment for the useless classes and knockabout amusement for he chattering classes. Does not mean anything much except the Tories don't like being completely powerless. Meanwhile dull reality will move along with all the excitement of ditchwater. Marvellous.

It's been fun watching it make things awkward for Labour, I mean 4 months in and you get this already? Hardly portends a smooth future.

There seems to be those taking it seriously who really should know better, it's going to do nothing other than embarrass Starmer, a fair few who wanted the reverse Brexit equivalent ignored have suddenly become converts to these petitions, and vice versa.

I do wonder how many in Labour are looking at the numbers, the constituencies where the votes are coming from, and by how many votes they won those constituencies by. Be hilarious if this was the lit fuse that led to Labour into another internal power battle.

It's about their gross incompetence and not their political inclination. Also the lies that they told us on their CVs - two ministers (Haigh and Reeves) and Starmer himself.

The anti Brexit petition was used to mandate a four year delay for Brexit and the enforcement of Brino instead.

And now we know. The mask mandates, the lockdowns, the working from home by the public sector... none of it was about saving granny because they're about to kill her over WFA this year.

What's WFA?

Winter Fuel Allowance.

I see they've gone and done it

One of those reforms that, like abortion, was in no manifesto but is almost impossible to reverse.

I want it, personally. Having seen my Dad go through a terrible death. I'd rather risk being bumped off peacefully a couple of years early than go through that.

Two doctors and a judge to determine mental capacity AND that the illness is likely to be terminal within six months.

Also - the sheer expense of NHS resources spent in that last six months of hell.

Indeed, and in that light I recommend to you Charles Moore's perfect dissection of the disaster that Starmer is, noting re Brexit...

"Sir Keir Starmer is not like that, and nor is Rachel Reeves or most of his other senior colleagues. Before he became the Labour leader, and worked under Jeremy Corbyn, Sir Keir devoted his greatest energies to trying to reverse the largest democratic vote in our history, which was for Brexit. "

Amongst Starmer's failings (and I have an inkling this is a sociopath, witness his complete lack of affect, his frighteningly dead and soulless eyes, and the ease with which he lies, is a deep hatred of electoral democracy. It directly opposes his modus operandi, being - Do as I say, or by God I will punish you.

As Moore notes, whilst he maybe PM, in reality he is still the boss of the DP. And how he is going to prosecute us

As for the election petition, of course nothing will come of it, but that people have turned out to say HOW pissed off they are with this bag of shite (a Manchester term I commend unto you) is reassuring.
