1. Fuzzy sandal wearer upsets gloopy pr guy: yes, it's the Rowan'n'Dave show.

2. IMF downgade for UK growth and bank rate at 0.5% for two years - Tory led government failure.

3. We have a moral duty to give aid of 7%, not a measly 0.7%, it will make us proud to be British.

4. Air quality: how green is the Boy wonder? Rapped knuckles for Dave just when the Olympics start?

5. NHS: Attack of the Bones. Call Me Dave gives a Cast Iron promise: no new privatisation. Can you believe that?

Peter Hitchens is on tonight. I am such a Hitch-bitch I'll be glued to the screen! I'm watching Christina Aguilera's Dirrty on Youtube just to get into the mood (love those red panties), and of course 'Fuck Me Ray Bradbury' - classic.

With Peter Perfect on the case the case then so many of his pet views have got to rear their head, the godless society being a prime suspect. so...

1. Archbish of Canterbury telling govmt what to do/place of religion in soc, Christianity in partic & whether he's right and govt really is crap.

2. Ah it's a moral maze but I wonder if the Slut Walks will be mentioned? (walk in London on Sat) Especially with rape being given as a tool in war by some despot (Gadaffi?).

3. Another Moral Maze wossname but some book has allegedly been doing the rounds so poss talk of where we get morals from & whether science should influence policy? Are we a product of our brain chemistry? So should we have religion telling us anything? Although this could be part of point 1.

So 3.1 Air quality and the Olympics.

Or 3.2 Olympics tickets.

4. Sexualisation of children. Although this could form part of point 2?

5. Should Tony Bliar just fuck off and die? Preferably in Afghanistan?

Mark Wadsworth said...

I normally wait for M Tucker and Miss SJ to commit themselves first so I can copy their answers, but here goes...

1. Was Rowan Atkinson right to criticise Boy Dave?

2. Was Boy Dave right to do a U-turn on privatising NHS, our National Treasure?

3. Is it time to do something about commercialisation/sexualisation/exploitation of chidlren?

4. Shouldn't they have chosen something more eco-friendly to use as an Oluympic torch and is it right that German tourists can book ticketes online I thought this was supposed to be The People's Olympics?

5. How should we celebrate Prince Philip's 90th birthday?

Timbo614 said...

Still Chained to my desk!

But no. 1 must be the Rowan and Dave Spat. (I though churches/preachers believed in community and society?

2. Why does the EU(WE)have to pay 200+ Billion for a Cucumber Cock up?

3) Should Formula 1 go to Bahrain? (no!)

4) This Man is for turning on Trees, NHS, Prisons what next austerity?

Going for 4 Q's in a hurry!

Nick Drew said...

1. those Olympics tickets - public flogging for Seb Coe ?

2. why should we be bailing out Germany's diseased cucumbers ?

3. is Cameron right about dealing with violence-preaching islamists ? ...

4. ... segue to international aid (again) & should we be giving £ to [countries with space programmes / enter your favourite bugbear here ]

5. can we really trust Cameron on the NHS ?

measured said...

1. Should we pay homage to Rowan's views? He is unelected, religious, possibly fanatical... okay fanatical. I am surprised Cameron cared what he said but then where's Ed? Will attending church become compulsory for Labour Party members?

2. With car factories springing up all over the place, do we have the right skills to rebuild this economy? Educate people to transfer them?

3. Following the climbdown on Ken's sentencing guidelines, does it matter what women wear on the Slutwalk? Bunny girl outfits or hijab (ie burka or niqab).. anything goes.

4. Please can we have an inquest into Dr David Kelly. Okay, he may have committed suicide, but who drove him there, Mr Campbell and Mr Blair? The truth should out.

5. Money in some form - what are we spending on bombing Libya, why don't we invade Syria, why do the Olympics rely on volunteers, can we afford bread and fuel... ££££.

Norwich. What goes on in Norwich? Okay, no sixth question this week.

Oh God, not again, pleeese not the NHS.... just put me down. (I'd have two extra points if you had included my NHS mentions. Still, you might see fit to introduce a superpoints tax, BQ. That would be wholly unfair of course.) :-)

appointmetotheboard said...

1. Archbishop's intervention and the Tory party re-writing history so that it was workshy scroungers who caused the credit crunch rather than those nice chaps in the city...

2. Is AC Grayling's private university a handy distraction after MPs warning of the university funding gap / fees averaging nearer £9,000 than £7,500?

3. Can anyone remember the last time QT had a question about the economy? I can't. Nevertheless; IMF, justifying the Tory DSK-style rape of the public sector, or solidly behind a maid in Britain export led recovery? And, *cough* I notice Iceland's recovery is going faster than the UKs...

4. DC's 5 promises over the NHS. Funny on more than one level...

5. Rape u-turn / Slutwalk / Gaddafi issuing viagra to his soldiers. Did Emily Davison die for nothing? This may well be the question where Germaine cracks, and punches Peter Hitchens.

Norwich? Hm. Possibly a question on green energy in the (candle) light of Scottish Power raising prices. Damn, wish I'd thought of that earlier...

Evenin' fellow jihadists

1) Archbish defo - is society too selfish? Are governments supposed to piss money away left, right & centre and won't somebody theeenk of the cheeeldren. Charley Clarke & Jo Swinson will jibber on about schools

2) Am strangely thinking straight in on an equality question - are gov cuts chauvanist or something....hmm...but just a Hitchens & Greer gobfest about legal aid maybe. Union disquiet maybe and the 'prevent' agenda impacting on civil liberties.

3) International Aid - maybe Libya - what's that all about? Moral dimension waffle. Cucumbers could be inserted along the way.

4) BMW, Nissan and some fucking good news for a change????? Yeah, right. Interest rates low, unemployment flatlining.

5) Err...dunno. Phone hacking maybe.

Inshalla and all that jazz.

PS - not for points but - Syria & Israel doing their dance may come up - it'd be ace if it did, but i'd be surprised if QT went into Middle East shit that good.

4. Is the Archbish the only voice of reason against this evil coalition?

5. Foreign Aid do we reallty want to be an "Aid superpower" and will we be proud of it as much as teh armed forces

Has G. Brown's golden legacy been squandered by the Coalition or should Brown be on trial like Iceland's former prime minister?

How we can ever take schools and hospitals out of direct state control when failure is intrinsic to the market economy? How do we protect service users from market capitalism's signature sanction?

Is the inappropriate use of four-letter language merely ill-mannered or violently aggressive?

Would you pay £18,000 a year to be lectured by retired popularisers and live in a student bedsit in the far reaches of Eversholt Street, rather than £3,000 a year and take your University of London outreach degree from the comfort of your own home?

Why does the media report government response to consultation as U-turns?

Should Labour embrace mutualism, the co-operative movement, socialism with a human face, nationalisation of the commanding heights of the economy [you're going too far, Ed] and replace Ed with Cruddas?

Hi all.

1) The ArchBish - relevant & right or just a dress-wearing beardy-wierdy?

2) Foreign Aid - Why?

3) St Vince's Union Warning - will it achieve anything other than to put their backs up?

4) Libya - was bombing Tripoli right & what happens when he goes?

5) with both Jo & Germaine on the panel there must be a Women's Issue type question - either women only short lists or the atrocities in Libya/Egypt/Syria etc.

Botogol said...

1 - Given politicians don't do god, wouldn't it be more polite if Archbishops refrained from doing politics?
(aside-- is it me or is the Archbish's reputation for braininess founded entirely on his obscure vocabulary and tortured syntax? Is he incomprehensible becasue he's so clever, or incomprehensible becasue he doesn't make sense?)

Anyway...

2 - does New College presage the awful future for university education under this govt? (at least NC isn't setting its own exam papers, ha ha)

3 - given we've had a Cameron U-turn on everything else please can we have a U-turn on the 'Cuts'

4 - Has Ed Milliband proved to be a good leader so far ?

5 - Ought we to start bombing Syria now?

(I have a horrible feeling badgers are going to come up this week, and I'll miss them).

I've missed half of it, so just the answers tonight. Looked like quite a good show. Isn't that always the way?

Question Time

1.“We’re being committed to radical long term policies for which no-one has voted”. Is Rowan Williams correct?
'Bearded man speaks mind' was always likely.

2.Does the Government have any teeth when it comes to the inappropriate sexualisation of children?
{ohhh..didn't see that. And, rather worryingly, a local hair salon has been in the newspapers defending itself against its facials and nails birthday party service.
Ms Q & friends, are booked in there soon for her 8th b'day, and it did not even occur to me that there might be any sexualisation. What kind of Chav dad am I? And she still kisses dad goodnight, which is early flirtation, according to Germaine.}

{Dimbleby had a very mischievous glint in his eye when he read out the speaker's attack on the Daily Mail}

Q3. Is it right to seek to become a "development superpower" at a time when public services are being slashed?
That's aimed at Mitchell. Foreign aid.

Q4. Does a "deliberate policy of rape" by Gaddafi in Libya compel us to commit ground troops?

Bill Quango MP said...

Scores on a 4 question evening.

Budgie: 2 on a tough night is good -2.

Philipa: That panel is almost made for you! And you correctly guessed 3 of the questions - 3 + the hitch-bitch/perfect peter = 3½

Mark Wadsworth: Malc sneaked in via email, wise to your tactics. No sign of Miss S-J so you're chance to grab points.
'Rowan Atkinson' is worth a ½ - 2½

CU: I don't get the bucket thing?
I'll allow the rape, even though that wasn't the Q, but Swinson and Greer did suggest all men are incestuous paedos and Hitch did explode. + 4 qs = 2½

Timbo614: Why still at the desk at this hour? 1+ ½ for qs. - 1½

Nick Drew: Bit off tonight ND. - 1

Measured-great questions! - 2 hits
{I must be the only person who hadn't heard of slut walk.} -And NHS wondered uninvited into the audience responses a few times. {why does the BBC allow such obvious political/union activists to read out what amounts to a prepared statement? Its not good TV} -2½

appointmetotheboard: You were right to be sceptical that an economy Q would emerge. It didn't.
2 + 'maid in britain', DSK has to be worth a ½ - 2½

Dick the Prick - well, your shotgun Q2, even loaded with double pellets, missed. Others correctly targeted the mail's hobby horse, and Greer's life's work on padded bras. {I missed it too, yet so obvious in hindsight.}
- 2.

Miss CD- Bad night. Dimby didn't even manage the 5Qs -1

Hovis: recovered with the last two - 2

hatfield girl - some way off. ALL of those appeared on THIS WEEK, straight after. That,& the thought of putting G.Brown on trial is worth a point on its own -1

GSD: 3 {union guess was a great idea}
{& you, like me, saw Jo and Germ and missed the Hitcher}
-3

Botogol -1 + ½ for Archbish's reputation for braininess founded entirely on his obscure vocabulary and tortured syntax? Is he incomprehensible because he's so clever, or incomprehensible because he doesn't make sense?
+ ½ for mid east in general. -2

Malcolm Tucker - 1 + ½ for rape = 1½

Winner is Philipa with 3½.

She gets to decide whether or not to pass a law banning Lady Gaga.

Mark Wadsworth said...

Ta.

Meh, a workman like performance; bean sprouts for tea i guess.

Philipa said...

Hurrah! With the resurgence of Tony Bliar in the media I cannot possibly ban Lady Gaga. At least she's decorative. And doesn't kill people.

Did u see that Hitchens was trending wordwide on Twitter? Germaine Greer and Hitchens were still trending this morning! Talk about good value. Seems Hitchens has dropped off trend and Greer has taken the baton now though.

@BQ At desk? - Major project "roll out", as us software people call it, going on it's always a panic / slog/ check re-check. Test re-test etc. If it ends up like the ambulance service new software - very bad news. If if all works and does it's job - five figure bonus later this year. :)) So I'm making sure it works!

Hence politics and news are just not a major interest at the moment and the bad scores show it.

Botogol said...

:-( five points off the lead, Measured you are on a roll this season!

BQ - don't worry, I remember one of those parties, long ago, and now my daughter's old enough to be going on the slutwalk ...

hatfield girl said...

Some way off? 1400 kilometres away.

You try typing in questions for Norfolk with one dry hand while holding on to the side and drinking a campari.

Still, next week we can all contemplate the reality of Brown, and putting him on trial for wrecking the economy and for officially listing the Icelanders as terrorists.

Here are mine:

2. Was Boy Dave right to do a U-turn on privatising NHS, our National Treasure?

They're not Mark Wadsworth's, no way.
