Even More Of 'em !

The one one the left is not Michael McIntyre, it's Paul Tucker of the Bank, who seems to be as much a part of the hooh-hah as Bob.  Does this production-line of financial controversialists with puffy boat-races and dodgy barnets ever stop ?

Do they all share the same bottleSurgeon ? Harry, there may shortly be yet another opening for you.

Those of us old enough to suffer from white hair, but lucky enough still to have some, should really all know that Grecian is not the way forward. Block colour, too much henna, v bad. Makes the young ladies in the office laugh like drains behind our backs. My missus (very subtle mind, you know) gently used words like 'distinguished', 'silver fox' and 'kick in the balls' to prevent an outbreak of henna in Weetabix towers.

On an unrelated topic, I note with bitter amusement that in the English media "British tennis player Andy Murray" is now once again referred to as "Scottish" now he has lost the final. It does peeve us North Brits when you Sassenachs do that, you know.

Damn, and I was just thinking of going the Grecian route (55, balding and streaks of grey). Perhaps I should investigate the monkey glands.

Judging by their faces, they all look as though they could do with a dollop of that other sort of 'syrup'...

...figs!

At the risk of repeating it, frequent use of strong hair dyes can have significant neurological effects. Looking at those three, it almost looks like proof.

Errr, SW, from what I heard Andy Murray was always described as British and Scottish. If you are that sensitive in the conquered lands of Strathclyde and Northumbria, then be glad the English weren't rooting for Federer.

Conquered, Budgie? How very dare you. Union of equals and all that. That's why England fights to the last Scot in all our major wars.

"Conquered? How dare you???! "Union of equals"??!?
What??

The kingdom of Alba conquered Strathclyde around 1050AD and also northern Northumbria about the same time. Scotland is the result of these conquests, though intertwined with Irish and Viking raids, battles and migrations.

Most Scots live in the areas that used to be Brythonic (Welsh) speaking (south west) or old English speaking (south east). In the north east it was Pictish. Gaelic is the conqueror's language, and Scotland a fabricated myth that is neither original nor homogenous.

So England is a homogenous nation and Scotland is a mythic construct. Hmm. England is the result of Iceni, Romans, Celts, Jutes, Saxons, Friesians, Danes, Normans etc etc etc intermingling and interbreeding and could just as easily be split into Cornwall, Wessex, Mercia etc if history had been different. But it wasn't so it isn't. All nations are cultural constructs with a mythic story with some basis in reality but reflecting mostly how a demos perceives itself and wishes to be perceived.
"Most Scots live in areas that used to be Brythonic" yeah, no shit. And do you speak old Norse? Thought not.
Don't be so silly. This small minded petty nationalism does you no credit.
