Ooh ooh ooh first?

1. Minimum pricing: do the Tories not care about Britain's Booze Culture any more?

2. Childcare: do the Tories not care about how realhardworkingfamilies' children get brought up?

3. Tory Right/UKIP: is Cameron toast? Can he row back fast enough without a coalition split?

4. Ferguson: will we ever ever ever see his like again? Do we want to?

Only four questions.

Dimbletie: Manchester United Mauve.

Coventry has just turned left so I'm going with the comrades up there.

1. When should the cuts stop and reflating the economy start. Is UKIP to blame?

2. Is NHS privatisation a kill-or-cure approach. Is UKIP to blame?

3. UKIP - A media frenzy rather than a grass-roots change. Is UKIP to blame?

4. Football - Why are there no successful English Managers in the Premier League. Is UKIP to blame?

5. Can academies ever replace the old-fashioned Grammar Schools. Is UKIP to blame?

Great city when I was younger when it was full of petrol-heads - and reds. The former have gone and left the others.

Tie: Red and black

Dimbletie - a daring purple?

1. Childcare: how have we let it get so expensive?
2. Are the preventable errors in NHS hospitals inevitable due to starvation of funding? (as opposed to Liverpool Pathway funding of starvation).
3. Was UKIP's 25% anything more than a protest vote?
4. Will HS2 revitalise Warwickshire?
5. What Mr. Men character do you most identify with?

Malcolm Tucker said...

1. UKIP UKIP UKIP UKIP UKIP-EU refernedum. All of the main parties will deny being influenced by UKIP in any way.

2. Childcare. Clegg is opposing himself. Has he faced so many different ways on so many issues he no longer knows what he once said he was for?

3.Should women have to wear corporate see-thru uniforms?

4.Fergy question. Don't know what - Go Yeovil!

Tie - red with birds.

Re manu tie

1. Childcare, coaltion politics does not work. discus.

2. UKIP/Lawson - stupid evil anti EU right wing babyeaters etc

3. car manufacturing up - economic slow recovery- always talk about poxy cars in coventry on the telly. pure bbc stereotyping.

4. Ed milliband saves a cyclist = shoo in for prime minister

5. football, yawnathon.

If I make it home in time to watch it will be my earlist night back from work this week!!

when I saw headlines saying Fergie Going I immediately thought of Princess Fergiana

which is by way of saying that I am clearly mis-aligned vis-a-vis the Zeitgeist

anyhow

1) Clegg and nurseries, WTF is he on about ?
2) a Fergie homily, natch: what can he teach us about being successful ?
3) should HM the Q be handing over these official functions to Prince Charliana ? or perhaps the whole shooting-match a la Netherlands ? (Ans: not if he's going to get all green on us)
4) alright, UKIP & what is going to happen in Tory / Westminster politics now
5) something from left-field: how about fracking ?

Dimbletie: another floral jobber, seeing as what Spring is here

(oh - that was yesterday ...)

Evenin’ all.

1. No EU referendum set down in stone before the election? There could be if they agreed to reform the House of Lords. “Welcome back Nadine, all is forgotten if you don’t say hello to Nigel. I can’t remember us being mean to you.”

2. Get me to casualty quick. Not this side of the Channel, you fool as I need to be seen.

3. Training for nursery assistants. Quid pro potty. (Won’t be one where Davis shines.)

4. Rights of the family can’t trump repatriation for criminals. What else was in the Queen’s speech. So what are you doing for business?

5. Signing away employment rights while families can’t feed themselves. Is this right.

Tie – come on, David, put one in the back of the net. Cherry red and black.

Hi all.

1) A&E problems: who's fault is that then?

2) Some elements of the Queen's Speech seemed to be at odds with ECHR rulings & EU laws. If we actually pass them into our law, which ones win?

3) UKIP: Westminster (all parties) seem to have lost the initiative: How do they plan to get it back?

4) DC & the backbench amendment to the QS for an EU ref. [Its almost as if no-one believes a word DC says!]

5) UK 20th in "best-place-to-be-a-mum" league table. Is that why Clegg is whining about childcare ratios?

Budgie said...

1. Childcare plans in chaos (horror! shock! armageddon!), will Dave Clegg throw his toys out of the coalition pram? Who cares?

2. NHS: A&E units near to collapse shock (horror! chaos! armageddon!) Will NHS chiefs line their own pockets (again! shock! horror! etc!) Is Frankie the pope?

3. Lord Al Ferguson abducted by aliens shock! It was a UFO of two halves say shocked witnesses. Moyes new Coventry United supremo, chaos! (is that right - Ed?) as Sky Blues prepare to make Coventry blue. Who cares?

4. Boy Cameron successful in stopping immigration by a third, but UKIP closet racists to say so? Discuss.

5. Lawson, Lamont, UKIP - can Boy Dave survive? Can the UK?

Timbo614 said...

timbo's after question time tie time time-out teasers :)

1) UKIP Hoo-dey? EU Who dem? Have to go with MT's first! Everyone on the panel will deny UKIP influence! The question will be "Are the current promises just a reaction to U-Know-Who?"

2) Are the gov't just adoption UK-Know-who's immigration policies?

3) It's another U-Turn U-look after three under three's with the terrible twos too!

4) If we retrospectively allow legal sex at thirteen are the current crop of peado's actually peado's or just premature?

5) Nobody will mention football managers except in passing, so it's probably an NHS privatisation question. Like is this just the back door being polished up to be a wide open private provider portal?

Dimbytie - wavy navy.

First Q (in advance): With the recent success of UKIP, has British politics moved permanently to the right

Q2: Should the Queen’s speech have mentioned the topic of an EU Referendum? {tow questions really. And another UKIP one}

Q3: Is it right for the government to ask NHS staff to act as border agents to prevent health tourism?

Q4: Should police withhold identities of arrested people until such time as they are formerly charged?

Q5: Does Cameron need to 'jettison' his Old Etonian advisors to win the next General Election
2 second late question.

BQ - 6

BE - 1 for first +3 = 4

Taff - bit of a mash up but 5 seems a fair score as a lot of what you thought was discussed. - 5

Hopper - 6 {Mr Uppity} {and what is this Mr Men about?}

Malcolm Tucker - 4

CU -3 {late nights - buggers aren't they}

ND - hmmm -3 {Twitter is awash with HAVE YOU SEEN GASLAND? - is this a true documock or a Michael Moore stylee stitch up?}

Measured - 7 I think. Good.

DTP 6 + 2 for getting the rape question - 8

gsd - another mash but mostly right - good 7

Budgie - 5{+1 for the dreadful footie piece} - 6

timbo - 5 +1 for the U-Know-who-kip.
I can see great election posters for the 45-65 UKIP demographic. - "SHHHHH! U-Know-Who they're afraid of!" - 6

Winner is the Aryton Senna of Qt quiztime - Dick the Prick on 8

DTP gets to nominate the next reader of the Queen's speech.

I have no excuse, I am just rubbish. Maybe I should watch more often so I know how low to pitch my answers. In the meantime I think the successful should be forced to contribute more to the community so that the less successful can live fulfilling lives. I.e. gimme some points! ;-)

Happy Friday everyone :-D

Gasland is a rather well-made piece of pure polemic, quite easy on the eye and very beguiling for people who are in the market for an anti-energy diatribe

it is very cavalier (and sometimes outright dishonest) in its use of facts, and full of crafty non-sequiturs which any logician would spot, even if they knew nothing of the detail

also, it has bugger-all to do with fracking (which is one of its main non-seqs) - it starts on fracking right enough, but about one-third the way in then seamlessly segues into just an attack on the practices of the US natural gas industry in general

somehow, people come away thinking they've seen a devastating case against fracking, but they haven't

for completeness, let it be said that in some states of the USA there are virtually no environmental regulations at all (or if any, they are not enforced) and so there is a solid body of entirely legitimate attack that can be made on some genuine ongoing life-threatening health-hazards that would not be tolerated anywhere else this side of China. Gasland's valid hits are scored on this ground - but again, this has very little to do with fracking

(if anyone disputes this I invite them to move with their families and live in the environs of the refinery belt at the Houston Ship Channel. No? Thought not)

PS Captcha is itnwanc which seems a little harsh ...)

Congrats again TP - JP it is. With a kazoo.

BE- Is this Redistribution or Predistribution? You didn't need to watch last night's. Greer hasn't moved on much from the 1970s. Swinson is a heavyweight Lib dem, which means only moderately awful. Hunt tried but ended up saying Immigration is the fault of the Tories which earned him derision.
Mostly a forgetable show.

kynon - if you remember to enter next week add +1 to remind me to bonus you.

Cu - you watched a lousy show.

ND - There's a whole post right there!
Don't bury it in the comments! Lots of people talking about it and on Radio 5 I think it was Kermode who said something like

"The science is settled and this film shows that Fracking is very, very toxic"

BE - a fly'n'flop to the Balearics. Rubbish summers have taken their toll - we require sunshine-powered Vitamin D, warmth, and some sangria!

Less adventurous than we would normally choose, but quite liking the idea of effectively having all the important bits taken care of for us. Not liking the prospect of 3-ish hours in a confined space with the great unwashed though!

Blue Eyes said...

I like the idea of the Balearics, if only because aged 18 my mum banned me from going on a clubbing holiday to Ibiza. I think she was worried it was still a pink resort.

I'm off to East Africa on the opposite kind of holiday. I.e. nothing organised, hovel hotels and death-trap buses. I am really looking forward to it.

Kynon said...

BE - sounds like (mildly perilous) fun!

I have been to Ibiza (I think) 11 or 12 times...I am yet to go clubbing there. Lovely & peaceful place if you are on the right side of the island.

BQ - I have absolutely no intention of being anywhere near an internet for the next fortnight, so I will just have to trust you to +1 me in absentia. Can I have a postal vote? :P

Bill Quango MP said...

BE: Are you insane? My brother's ex-wife still has the worm in her brain she got from their honeymoon in Vietnam. Sister still has the same poisonous, potentially lethal parasite in the kidney's from a trip to Rabat.
Both need megadose poisons and a coma like sleep for a week to kill the beasts every year or so.

Third world - Only if there is a decent casino.

kynon - Ok postal vote accepted.

I am sooo looking forward to a holiday. But nothing on the horizon.
