British Airways staff select their Jonestown

Yes, the Telegraph reports today that the BA unions are getting more revolutionary not less. They have seemingly been encouraging staff to sabotage the company and want a showdown. They have picked Kempton Park racecourse for a meeting to decide on a new stirke, having been thwarted by the Company at Christmas.

I am always amazed by lemming behaviour and how it can continue. I will continue to watch the story unfold. I doubt BA or its staff can really keep this level of antagonism up without serious problems for the company this year.

Dinosaurs always go extinct. In this case Ryanair, Virgin etc. simply have to wait until BA implodes, buy up their aircraft at bargain basement prices and hey presto - problem solved. It's a crude and messy way forwards, but guaranteed to succeed.
Even so, I'll miss the days of pampered club class on BA, but I suppose this is just another example of the decline and fall of our empire.

One of the 'guest' tippers in a newspaper tipped BA. I would run a proverbial mile: incompetent management; belligerent unions; death wish employees; and a massive pension deficit.

BAY as a tip - only for a short.

Now I wonder who used to be a big wig in BALPA, I think his initials were N.T.

I think you will find that BALPA came to a sensible agreement with BA long ago. It is the domestics who are aspiring to the dole queue.
