I have nothing to say

Current news and affairs holds no interest to me.

As and when the caravan moves on, maybe things will change.

I can't remember the last time I watched the news, nor the last time I visited news.bbc.co.uk and wasn't presented with a list of stories that look like they were lifted directly from Hello magazine.

Tim Worstall has an amusing snippet on his blog - look for Ahem

Poor old Harry has got stuck in the middle of a media bitchfight and its not pretty. Still he was warned.

Chin up Boys
While not exactly new here is some positive news
Suff News
Polar Bear numbers on the rise. While most of this is put down to reduced hunting, fat samples show a very improved health ( from memory so bear with me :-)
Increased co2 in the atmosphere has increased vegetation by 10% since 2000. NASA confirms d sweets are shrinking.
Mining to return to Cornwall as substantial Lithium deposits found.
As the media only concentrate on their made up negative nonsense, do any of the commentators have any other positive news?
And Bill
It’s high time for one of your historical pieces

How does autocorrect get S sweets from Desert?

I doubt if the seals are celebrating the rise in polar bear numbers, and nor am I. Nasty dangerous brutes.

Not news but calming amongst the hysteria, which I discovered today:
Monterey Bay Web Cam

Suff, you must have written an extra "s" in desert and have your autocorrect in "Northern" mode.

It's like a Royal game of Cludo. Was it Andy with racist language in the Throne Room ? Or was it Camilla with hurty words in the library ? ....

My bet's on Camilla. She looked as guilty as a puppy next to a pile of poo in that car photo.

This is the time when interesting things happen. You just do not realise until some time later.

Straws in the wind:

Social care getting a lot of mentions

People starting to wonder what happened to productivity

M&A being done over zoom NO actual contact.

Just because the news is not on the news does not mean there is no news.
Big things happening slowly are only reported on in retrospect.

@andrew, Greensill being a current case - maybe lots of ramifications for the global supply chain.

I agree Greensill appears to be smoke and mirrors.
Looks like Credit Suisse could be left with just smoke

I have heard no news, read no news, and seen no news - except accidentally - for months now. Why - well, y'day turned on R4 hoping to get the sports section. Instead, a harangue from whoever on R4 about "structural racism" in the UK. Sod that. Switched over to R5, who usually have more sports than R4. What did I get? a harangue from whoever on R4 about "structural racism" in the UK

Switched off. They must have been talking about another UK.

The idea that once held, that the media was a counterweight to the political classes is long long gone. The media is as damaging as our politicians are.

Switch off.

I suppose that if Meghan was telling the truth about racist comments from inner members of the Royal family, there is cause for concern. But, and it's a big but, was she telling the truth? She made her name as an actress, someone who speaks words written by other people, in a world of make believe. Perhaps she was coached by others before the interview, to say what they wanted her to say?
If so, Harry had the opportunity to stop this, but he appears to be so pussy whipped as to be completely useless.
Anyway, can we now move on to more important matters. What chance Hartlepool United will win the FA Cup next year?

I can't write at length about Greensill unfortunately, too much real life conflict. Suffice to say, he is a right twat who has met a fair ending. How people decided such an arrogant bore was worth backing to the tune of billions is beyond me.

Intriguing response to Greensill comments
I hope they are minnow
